As a first-generation student, I strive to make learning experiences highly accessibile to students, especially those just starting their academic careers. I design coursework around making sure that students feel they can comprehend complex topics by centering understanding around current events relevant to my students.
I have lectured Population Problems (evaluation score: 4.77/5) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, for which I was awarded the Department of Sociology's Excellence as a Lecturer Award.
"I loved Michael's classes and style of teaching. Michael is part of the reason I've been inspired to get a certificate in Gender and Women's Studies. I genuinely think Michael is why the course was so effective, he sets you up for success."
